Here's something I don't understand. My cousin, Sean, is 14 years old and an incredible kid. He's brilliant, he's funny, he's mature, and he absolutely adores his home ec class. This is a kid who could easily hang out with me and my friends and not be out of place in the least. And he hangs out with these total louts. His friends are the absolute worst of eighth-grade-boy society, and that's saying a lot.

So what I don't understand is, why does he choose to spend time with people like this? Does he know there are better people in the world? Anyone want to help me kidnap my cousin and bring him up properly?

well, there's a couple of reasons he hangs out with them 1) his values are different than yours 2) they're old friends 3) he can't get along with other kids in his own age group easily (either they don't like him, or just no appeal)

unless they are attackng him in some way, i'm not one to interfer.

besides, the year is almost out, he won't be around them anyway.
