Jonas, my male MC, has brown eyes and black, curly hair, which he starts out wearing up in a style that requires a lot of effort and vaguely resembles a cobra's hood; before long, he stops putting much effort into it and starts just wearing it down around his shoulders. He stands about 5'9" and tends to wear a lot of white and red, the colors of the guild creche where he was raised. He's of rather low class and spends most of his time at work; he's a maker of musical instruments by trade.

Tentatively Named Marianne, my female MC, is solidly built. She has grey eyes and straight, reddish-brown hair, which she wears short, around earlobe-length. She's about 5'3" and wears mainly green, because she knows it looks good on her. She's aristocratic and, when frightened, takes refuge in mindless entertainment.

So, help me find a different name for Tentatively Named Marianne, please? Marianne doesn't seem to fit, and Tentatively Named Marianne, although it would add to my wordcount, is a bit awkward to type every time I refer to her.

I can't believe it. Oh man, I am so ready for this.

ETA: Tentatively Named Marianne is now not-so-tentatively named Engel. Yay! Yaaaaaay!

I don't know, I think Marianne is a properly aristocratic name. Mary or Victoria or Catherine would probably work well, too.

Aristocracy's different in this setting, though... I think it's more likely that the underclass has foofy "princess" names like Marianne and the aristocrats have sensible, businesslike sort of names. Hmm.

Hmm.. businessy names? That, to me, sort of sounds like simpler names - Jane, Hillary, Abigal, Agnes, Ida, Margeret, etc.

Margaret sounds sort of businessy!

I'm terribly amused that you used my names, [livejournal.com profile] elsajeni. :D

I've definitely settled on Engel. Who's this, by the way?

NetOwl, from the NaNoWriMo forums. Kandel Schwartz is my pen name.

Sorry for the invasion, but I was bored last night.
