So, this was posted by [livejournal.com profile] tartanshell a little while ago:

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Since then it has grown and become completely insane. There's now a community, [livejournal.com profile] holiday_wishes, for people to post their lists, and there's a gigantic and extremely well-organized master list here. I've been looking through other people's lists and finding things that I could, maybe, grant. So I decided I might as well post mine, too, and who knows, maybe I'll get something.

My Christmas WishList
1. Any older James Bond movie on DVD. I have no love whatsoever for Pierce Brosnan, but Sean Connery and Roger Moore were excellent Bonds. I already own Dr. No, Goldfinger, and The Man With the Golden Gun.
2. Harry Potter or Star Wars Lego sets.
3. Someone to teach me the basics of How To Pamper My Car, so that my dad will stop looking at me like I'm an idiot when I ask him for help and then not bothering to show me anything that would mean I don't have to ask him for help anymore.
4. Posters. What I really secretly lust after is a poster of Nightcrawler, but I've sort of given up hope on finding one. I also really like pictures of Stuff In Space and shuttle launches.
5. X-Men fanfiction that doesn't suck. Slash preferred. Wolverine/Nightcrawler extra-preferred.
6. Radio stations in the Houston area that I can listen to that won't suddenly start broadcasting in Spanish. (Why did you desert me, KLOL? You too, KRTS. Fuckers.)
7. Help with my physics and Chinese finals from people who know the subjects. Fortunately, I've got Latin covered already.
8. A very small fake Christmas tree, or at least a recommendation of where I could get one for fairly cheap, so that I can actually get some use out of my rapidly increasing collection of Incredibly Tasteless Ornaments.
9. Comments. Seriously, I want comments. I am a tremendous comment-whore. Please can I have comments?
10. MAIL. PACKAGES. LETTERS. ANYTHING. Packages are especially awesome. Seriously, letters that go on and on about nothing or packages with just random nonsense in them... I just want MAIL, people.

I'm going to put my current mailing address in here, because it's the same address as my entire dorm, just with my name in front of it:

Elizabeth Blair
Martel College
99 Sunset Boulevard
Houston, TX 77005

I think I got my tiny Christmas tree from some huge store and I saw one selling them now as well... don't know where they are sold in USA, though. :) Probably anywhere with lots of Christmasy stuff like Christmas lights.

Happy ChristmasQ

Commenting!!! Hoo-rah for comments. I'm a bit of a comment whore myself.

I got a 4 and a half foot tree at Menards for 19.99. THere were smaller ones and I'm sure they'd be a little cheaper. Lowes and Home Depot probably have them too. Good Luck!! Expect a Christmas card from me!!!

I have all sorts of things. Pink flamingo lights, for instance. Five strings of them. Plus a neon pink flamingo for the window. Oh, and red chili-pepper lights, of course. And a little Tutenkhamen-sarcophagus ornament, and a little cactus with sparkly snow on it, and... that's the only ones I can immediately remember, but there are lots. My roommates are gone for Thanksgiving right now, and they'll be coming back to the Christmas Decorating Scheme From Hell.

Yeah, I don't check livejournal often enough. All the same, expect some mail! I used to try to always give you birthday/christmas gifts in person, but, since you asked for mail, I'll make this year an exception. I'm a cheap bastard, but I'm sure I can afford a stamp or two -_^.

Here's a comment! I'll also be sending you a Christmas card. I live in Houston too! (well, when I'm not going to school in Indiana) I've always listened to 94.5 the Buzz, but it depends on your taste in music. Are you sure KLOL just didn't change stations? Buzz did that a while back. It used to be 107.5.
