Well, places are starting to open back up -- a few stores around here are open, but there are lines to get in, and of course there's no gas ANYWHERE. Much of the city still doesn't have power, and might not get it back for days or weeks. Large parts of coastal communities are just gone, including places that have stood for 50 or 60 years.
And I'll miss that damn crape myrtle.
On the whole, I'd say we came through better than we could have. It sucks, and the property damage is fairly vast, but the current Texas death toll is... seven. So we seem to be all right.
