bored, bored, bored
Aug. 12th, 2001 08:41 pmToday has been 100% unremarkable. Got up, did half a chapter of health (have I mentioned I'm taking health by correspondence at the moment?), went to someone else's church to play harp, skipped out before the sermon, did more health, had a harp rehearsal, came home, finished the unit in health, ate dinner, took a walk, came back home and got online. The one spot of excitement in my whole day was when I sat down at the computer, snagged my skirt on the arm of the chair (there is now a visible hole... grr...), and knocked over a can of coke, narrowly missing the keyboard.
And I have an unpleasant feeling that I'm never going to get to be senior harpist and play the gliss part on Triptic Dance. All right, now that you all think I'm insane I will explain. I play in a harp ensemble, which is what I had rehearsal for this afternoon. One of our pieces is called Triptic Dance, and there's a difficult part with lots of precise glisses that the most senior harpist of the group gets to play. I know, it seems like such a stupid thing, but I've been in this group a good 8 years and I've been looking forward to the year when I'll be the oldest. But I'm playing Harp I, and the gliss part is in Harp II. I plan to beg her to switch me with one of the little girls so I can do the glisses. (Although the little girl she'd likely switch me with is in fact 14, so I probably shouldn't call her little.)
And it's taken me a good 20 minutes just to write this much, and I'm out of thoughts anyway. I will shut up now.
