I wrote this poem in chemistry the other day and would be much obliged if anyone could tell me what in the hell it means. (It started with a dream I had the night before but... I don't think it's about that anymore. My poetry tends to take on a life of its own after a couple of lines.)
I dreamt
You called me -
You missed me,
You said -
And we talked
For hours on end,
You far away
In uniform,
Me far away
In mourning.
I already made some friends read it and they were all mystified, except one who tried to tell me it was all about that dream. I told her she was wrong and she said, "All right then, I've no clue." Nobody understands my work. Not even me. Damn.
