Sorry, still Grendel and Perdido Street Station. Although, I'm almost done with Perdido Street Station (making them italic is too much effort, only in their first mention in each entry will I bother), and it's a very amazing book. Next in line after that is The Scar, by the same author, which hopefully will be at least as amazing. Maybe it'll feature a couple of the same characters, too, as I think they share a setting... ah, the joys of idle predictions about books. I am BORED. Save me!
Here is how bored I am: I actually offered to help at the bookroom next week. You people who go to Bellaire know what teacher runs the bookroom. You know (if you've been paying attention) I don't like her. In fact, I can't stand her. And I'm going to voluntary spend several hours in a confined space with her. What is WRONG with me?
Getting my schedule on Tuesday. I really hope it's worked out okay. I know an earlier version of my schedule had the computer class I'd asked for (some kind of scary AP thing, which Mr. Newland, who will be teaching it and who is also the youth group advisor at my church, had promised to get me through in one piece even though I would have no clue what I was doing), but then apparently they had 200 seniors with no computer credit and started messing with us poor juniors.
So, I was gonna complain about how NO ONE was online and the melancholy music was not helping, but then Emily from Simon's Rock, Brigitte, and Ram all appeared at once and the CD moved on to a happier song. Now I don't even have a good excuse to bitch.
Oh, and today I got my picks for the glisses on Triptic Dance. I get to play them! Hah! And I'm not even the oldest yet! (Excuse me while I do a happydance.) Bought 4 picks, 2 each of 2 different kinds, then discovered that the grey ones were much too harsh. The white ones, which are softer, actually sound good. So, I'll be using those.
You know, for a girl with nothing to say, I've certainly managed to waste a lot of your time. I'll be quiet now.
