Halloween and my novel (no actual connection between the two)

Halloween. Hmm. I wanted to go trick-or-treating or something, but I had too much homework, giant pile of reading for history. And I did it. And then I got to school and the people who went trick-or-treating instead of doing any work whined and whined and whined because I refused to recite the reading for them. (First, hello, do you think I memorized it? Second, if I have the self-discipline to do my work, I assure you they do too.) So instead I stayed home wearing my devil costume and giving candy to small children.

First problem with the devil costume: without the tail, the mask, and the pitchfork, all of which I kept forgetting to grab, I do not look like the devil. I look like a hooker.

Second problem with the devil costume: lots of the trick-or-treaters are, you know, 3 feet tall. And I'm wearing a miniskirt. Caution required when bending over to drop candy in their bags.

Other news: I started the novel this morning. So far I've only got about 200 words, but hey, that's only about 20 minutes of work while ignoring a video in Spanish (which will probably come back to bite me in the ass next time we have a test, but oh well). If you object to having a deeply flawed character based on you, please let me know now in a comment. (Please? I want comments. Wait, what was the magic word again? Challah?)
