... playing catch-up
Jul. 6th, 2003 10:57 amSo, all right, I haven't posted since last Friday. (Or Saturday morning? Something like that. Anyway, it's been a while.) Lots to catch up on. I shall try to keep it quick. And, for those who may still be reading Harry Potter - yes, I talk about it, but I guarantee I give you no spoilers.
1. Finished Harry Potter Saturday morning and was in a dreadful mood for the rest of the day until...
2. Rode on the church float in the Gay Pride Parade, had a wonderful time, threw beads at people and so forth. Creepy drunk guy waved a phallic-shaped balloon at me and made obscene gestures, causing me to flee to other side of float where he couldn't see me (or at least, I couldn't see him, which was just as comforting really). I actually felt sorry for the fundamentalists, there were only about 5 of them. Ate Vietnamese egg rolls and a cookie for dinner. Saw several people I knew. Came home all happy around 12:30 a.m. and fell asleep.
3. Went to see Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle or whatever the hell the full correct title of that thing is. Very entertaining. Good villain with the sort of accent that causes me to make squealy noises.
4. Had Dana over on Sunday night and watched Chamber of Secrets to console ourselves over end of fifth book. Made squealy noises at various characters with good hair and/or good accents. (Not that we're easy or anything...) Discussed the well-accented villain in Charlie's Angels and found that both of us had made squealy noises at him as well. I think Dana and I were simply born to be movie-watching companions. My God, I've used up all this space and I'm only up to Sunday night!
5. Summer school, driver's ed, and so forth. Started behind-the-wheel portion on Tuesday, no, Wednesday. Somewhere around there, anyway. Hate it passionately. Nearly changed lanes into a pickup truck and as a direct result nearly had nervous breakdown. Am obviously not meant to drive, ever.
6. Gainful employment! I'm proofing a textbook manuscript - fixing formatting, putting an end to typos, making things a little more clear, that sort of thing. Ten bucks an hour. Yay, money!
7. And, somewhat related, I am now a volunteer proofreader for Project Gutenberg. Off I go now to work on that. Good day to all.
