Oh. Jesus. Christ. I'm sorry. That's about as coherent as I can be right now. So far I've seen it twice, which means I've spent a total of seven hours this week gibbering at hobbits and I'm not even close to being satisfied. I could watch this movie eight hundred times and still not be satisfied. Pippin. Oh God. I can't express anything more clearly than that... just... Pippin. Oh God.
Okay. I'm warning you now that, if you don't want to hear this until after you've seen the movie and you haven't seen it yet, well, first of all, GO TO THE THEATER RIGHT NOW FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!, but also, skip the rest of the entry. Because I'm sort of going to go straight through. Or something. As much as I can. As coherent as I can. Which might not be very coherent.
Oh God. Smeagol, Deagol, oh God. So perfect. Other people heard the Ring's inscription being read in the Black Speech in the background, right? I wasn't hearing things out of sheer desperate desire to hear them? Oh God, Smeagol. Am filled with desperate regret that it's over. Anyway... yes. And Merry and Pippin there at the guard-tower, smoking, and the slight implication left in there that hobbits' pipeweed is something a little stronger than just tobacco, and the palantir Jesus Christ it looked just right! although I could've done without the seizure-hobbit effects, that struck me as a bit much, possibly he could have been a little less dramatic and and and and and.
Merry and Pippin parting. Oh sweet Jesus. I can't write about that. I think the English language is sort of inadequate for this movie. Although I did find a place for the word "maelstrom" to go live and be happy, and it's the moment when Sauron's tower falls with the red clouds swirling around as if they think they're in a tornado, but that's so so so beside the point. Merry. Pippin. I know it's not healthy for the love of one's life to be a fictional character, I know, but Pippin, God, I've been in love with him since I was nine years old and everything is just so perfect in this movie. Perfect. Everything. Go see it again right now. I'm planning to. As soon as I can. Oh God.
