whales, plays, cross-stitch, Legos
Feb. 1st, 2004 09:19 amBest suggestion I've gotten so far is that we go to Baja California, where we can see whales; the train journey there is also supposed to be great. However, this seems like it might not be totally feasible, since my mom immediately said, "There is no way I would've let you go to Mexico without an adult when you were 16!" and all the friends I'm considering taking with me are around 16, and I consider my mom a fairly representative mom. So, more suggestions would be appreciated. Somewhere vaguely westward that I can get to by train or bus.
I'm about to go to the Alley with my parents and see Proof (although I won't actually be posting this entry until we get back or possibly even tomorrow, by which I mean Sunday), which is supposed to be quite good (edited after returning from the Alley: it was). I'm dressed all formally and feel very sophisticated and New-York-y. I have a scarf and everything. (I am very bad at wearing the scarf, though, since I live in Houston and have no experience with such garments. It makes me feel most awkward.)
So today I went and bought a book of cross-stitch alphabets; I've already chosen the ones I want to use for the inscription on my eagle. (Yes, ones: one for uppercase and one for lowercase. And it's just going to say "Gwaihir Windlord," I decided to drop the "the.") I also bought a new Harry Potter Lego set. The Dueling Club. I think I'm addicted.
But they have little capes! It's so cute! And there's all kinds of moving parts! (There's a little swiveling throne-type chair which I think could entertain me for hours, and also a little dueling platform with bits that flip backwards so that you can realistically fling your little Lego wizards backwards when an especially strong spell hits them. I am way easily amused.)
And another side note about upcoming entries: it has come to my attention that I have never done one of those annoying surveys. Therefore, I shall be doing one shortly.
