So, I'm writing a falsified memoir of my freshman year. I mean, it's about half true, but I'm also making up a lot of crap to make it more interesting and a better story. Anyone have any requests about what I should make up about you, if anything? (By the way, it would help for these purposes if I actually knew you when I was a freshman, but I suppose that's not essential.) So far I've put in a couple of relationships that I never had and the death of someone who is still alive and well (a death was required by the assignment, sorry). I'm open to any suggestions other than adding more relationships for me or more deaths. Please do give suggestions, I will love you forever. Thanks.

Hmm... so am I in or out? I know you said you didn't want any suggestions for additional relationships, but I would feel a bit left out if I was... uhh... left out. In honor of making your other relationships just *that* much more convoluted, I think I deserve to be *somewhere* in the background ;)

So are we going to be able to read this work when it's finished?

Sorry hon, Larry's story you'll have to write yourself. I'm trying to make my workshop group cry, not fall out of their chairs laughing.

Here's the problem, and I know this isn't what you want to hear. The story is about a very particular group of people and the effect that a certain event (that didn't really happen) had on them. Us. Whatever. You wouldn't be affected, so you're not in the story. Because you see, it really isn't a memoir. It's more a short story (growing longer by the minute) featuring characters and a very few events from my real life. Sorry.
