Well, what's been going on here:
The traditional Christmas Day arguments went all right (those being: Why Don't We Go To The Movies vs. Let's Stay At Home Like Normal People And Possibly Go Back To Bed, and We Should Eat Something Traditional vs. But Chinese Food Is Traditional, with the optional counterargument of Not For Christmas Dinner vs. I'm Just Trying To Get In Touch With My Jewish Heritage). Movies and Chinese food won. They always do.
My Scary Fundamentalist Uncle and family got into town safely, and my barely-turned-13-year-old cousin Emily immediately started interrogating me about who I voted for because "George Bush is better, because he's anti-abortion and stuff," which is a bit odd to hear coming from someone whose father, up until the last couple of years, wouldn't allow her to read Archie comics because the teenagers' relationships were too serious and therefore the comics were clearly under the influence of Satan.
My other barely-turned-13-year-old cousin, Carissa, has learned to knit. Well, to knit badly, at least. Rebecca, who is not quite 10, has taken up the drums.
... that's about all, really.
