A random news item.

Prince Charles is finally marrying Camilla. The news story made rather a big deal about the queen's reaction. I would think that her reaction, like everyone else's, would pretty much be, "Well for Christ's sake it's about damned time, they've been fucking forever." Although possibly the queen doesn't say "fuck." (Does she? All I actually know about her, particularly, is that she has corgis that like to bite people.)

The Queen does not say fuck. Most likely because nobody her age (and social class) used the work fuck. On the other than, Prince Charles has probably used the work fuck. This is based on the fact that my grandmothers don't say the work fuck, and I imagine Her Majesty is as polite as my grandmothers are/were.

As amendum, if the queen were to use words like fuck, she'd be more likely to say something like 'bloody hell'.
