Okay, so, the first part of this entry does not actually take place in Florida. It takes place on a bus. Which I do not love at all. It is a bad, bad bus. First it broke down in Vidor -- that would be the town in East Texas where the KKK is still really active? Yeah, that one. So we went to Burger King while the driver figured out what was wrong.

Actually, this part was kind of cool. Burger King is doing a promotion where you can get little Star Wars toys. So I got a cute little Luke Skywalker and Zack got a little Jabba the Hutt, and it turns out Luke Skywalker is a little picture-viewer-thing (there's an eyepiece in his foot) and Jabba is a squirt gun.

So, we came out of Burger King in a good mood with our little toys, and then the driver told us that we'd be going on normally, but without air conditioning. So. We spent the next four hours taking a lovely non-air-conditioned tour of the South in summer. Which was exciting. (Although we did come up with a clever idea for a screenplay, involving mad scientists who expose kudzu to radiation and then it starts eating people. Possibly this seemed clever because we were delirious from the heat. We're definitely making the movie, though.) Then we got to Baton Rouge. Apparently, it was just too hard to have called ahead and asked to have a new bus waiting for us to switch to, so we got to wait an hour in the bus station for a bus with functional air-conditioning to come in from... somewhere. By a random miracle, though, we made our connection in Tallahassee (the 4:30 AM bus from Tallahassee turned out to be the 5:30).

... Our luggage? Did not so much make the connection in Tallahassee. (In unrelated news, it is really fun to type Tallahassee. Tallahassee Tallahassee Tallahassee.) So, we got to New Port Richey at about 10:30 Tuesday morning, scrounged T-shirts and boxers from Zack's mom, took showers, and fell asleep.

Wednesday was an actual cool day, though. Our luggage got here, which was awesome, and we went to Tarpon Springs, the sponge-diving capital of the world. (I think.) It was cool. First I bought a hat, and then we ate the tastiest lunch in the history of lunches, which included really good garlic bread with, like, 58471 cloves of garlic on it and also cheese and marinara sauce, and I had a spinach-and-garlic pizza that turned out to actually just melt-dissolve-disappear-awesomeness in your mouth, and then we went to an aquarium and I got to feed frozen shrimp to stingrays and they were friendly and I loved them, especially this one white devil ray who really, really liked to be petted, and then we went on a boat ride and got to see a guy put on an old-school diving costume and go get an actual sponge, which was awesome, and I got to pet an actual sponge that had just been pulled out of the water and it was all squishy and felt soft and awesome, and then I saw a WILD MANATEE just SWIMMING in the RIVER, going OMG I AM A MANATEE, and then I bought a pretty pretty Greek dress that makes me look like a princess, and then I decided that I was definitely moving to Tarpon Springs, and then I got to play in Zack's dad's hot tub. ... And then I went to sleep. And woke up this morning. And wrote in my livejournal.

I'm making a movie about killer kudzu!

Oye, conozco los problemas con las maletas. Lufthansa decidió perder mio cuando llegó; nunca trata encontrar un hotel sin la dirección, especialmente si tu tarjeta de teléfono no funciona.

^.^

I think a movie about killer Kudzu sounds fantastic. Ever seen the movie with the Triffids? Its name escapes me at the moment.
