Apr. 10th, 2006 02:27 amSo during rehearsal today, I tragically maimed my toe. (Um, by "today" I mean "several hours ago when technically it was yesterday," but close enough.) Barefoot rehearsal = probably bad plan, in retrospect. So now I have a little toenail-free bit, which hurts. More than seems necessary, really. It's not as if I lost a lot of toenail, and what little I did lose is right up at the front, where it didn't even bleed. I put antibacterial goo and a bandaid on it anyway, though (a maimed toe is inconvenient, but an infected maimed toe would be a real pain in the ass), and the main reason I'm posting has to do with the bandaid.
It's one of those big knuckle bandaids, with the four little arms that stick out from the corners of the pad, two each on opposite sides. Since bandaids don't normally stick too well to toes, this one required some ingenuity. End result: one half of the pad is on the top side of my toe, with the little arms wrapped around as if embracing my toe; the other half is folded over the end of my toe, with its little arms extended down the sides of my toe.
My toe looks like a nun. An ADORABLE nun. I have named her Sister Mary Bigtoe, although I'm fairly sure that there is no Saint Bigtoe and therefore this is kind of a questionable name for a nun. (Also, toes probably are not technically allowed to take the veil.)
