So my extended family (about 60-70 people ranging in age from 6 weeks to 75) was all at my house yesterday - everyone descended from Grandma, who is technically my great-grandmother but who has never been called Great-Grandma in her life and is 97 years old and not about to start changing her name now. Graham, the 6-week-old baby, is very very cute and also quite bald. We'd shut away the cat (poor thing) in my bedroom. We put a big sign on the door that said "DO NOT ENTER! UNFRIENDLY CAT IN HIDING!" So of course my cousin Michael opened the door and let her out. (Michael is not, incidentally, a preliterate small child. He is in his mid-twenties and fairly well-educated. I am fairly confident that he can read.) Poor kitty still has not quite recovered from the stress caused by the 17 great-grandchildren ages 11 and under.

Anyway. My cousin Eric, wanderer of the family, is off to Bolivia for several months, which should be very interesting and lead to me getting letters in broken Spanish again (he spent some time in Guatemala previously (was it Guatemala? I was 11 then) and sent me said letters). I spent the afternoon eating many desserts, including a possibly excessive number of rumballs. Today we woke up obscenely early and went to the science museum with a party that included 8 small children. I need to sleep and will see all of you later.
