Went to regional band auditions yesterday. Westfield High School, out in Spring, nothing interesting anywhere within 5 miles, and I was stuck there for SEVEN FUCKING HOURS.
That's the last I'm ever going to say about regionals. Really, it is. Oh, no, it isn't, because I ran into this guy who I knew from Houston Youth Symphony and he was really confused because I was auditioning for percussion and in symphony I play harp. Poor confused drummer.
Other news. It's all symphony-related. Working on the Mahler, tempo changes are a bitch and I swear the piccolo player is aiming at me, she always sounds like she's shrieking right in my fucking ear even though she's 15 feet away. Rimsky-Korsakov with the Philharmonia (younger orchestra), 5 ledger lines and on top of that 8va. (If you don't know what that means: you know how when I sit at the harp, there are about 50 strings and 35 of them are in front of me? These are the 15 that are behind my head.)
Sorry. I'm done. Going to sleep now.
