subject? like, single coherent topic? hah
Aug. 25th, 2003 10:05 pmI sat down and worked my ass off after school today because I had a bunch of large assignments for Wednesday... and I successfully read all of Book I of The Iliad, did half the study questions about it, and memorized 16 characters with Pinyin and English. I am the Homework Goddess.
I am totally not, however, the Sticking-to-One's-Diet Goddess. It was Physics Food Day, so everyone in my nerd classes (math and TOK, basically) had sugary food that they were trying to get rid of. Alina fed me about 15 meringue cookies. Ugh, ugh. I swear I can hear my butt mocking me. Dammit, I'm going to be good tomorrow.
I did a half-hour of harp, though, and my notebooks are still fairly organized, and I seem to be enjoying myself, and I'm steadily moving toward the point where I will no longer have to hide under the furniture when well-meaning adults ask me where I plan to go for college, but will instead be able to say, "Well, I've applied to Blah State, Wherever, and Whatchamacallit U, but Wherever is really my first choice."
Hopefully. Hopefully.
Ugh. Ugh. I have to write college application essays. I have to find someone to write recs for me. I have to get copies of all the applications. I have to... ngh. This is too stressful. If I keep thinking about this, I'm going to end up forgetting to do my homework and eating 15 meringue cookies instead.
Incidentally, so that you can all say you learned something new today, did you know that vitamin B6 helps your brain manufacture serotonin? Watermelon is high in B6. Eat watermelon. I certainly plan to.
