So, speaking of The Triumphant Return To T.H. Rogers, I was there this afternoon for NHS, helping with preliminary science fair judging. Damn. Okay, first question: why did they nice-ify the courtyard after I left? I would've loved to eat in the courtyard, but in my day, there was a fascist dictatorship in control of the only 2 tables, and I would've had to sit in the dirt and eat off the sidewalk, so we went and sat inside the cafeteria, which was basically Pariah-Land. And now the courtyard's all nice, with more paved areas and a zillion tables and... it's pretty!

Also, all of the furniture seems to have gotten smaller, which is weird, since I haven't actually grown since the sixth grade.

Ms. Duhon got married! Really recently, I think, because she is ridiculously excited. She's Mrs. O'Connor now. And I saw Ms. Day, who instantly said, "When I grow up..." The woman's memory never fails. And, well, and a multitude of other people, including Mr. Taylor, who said to tell Dana to watch out for the ghosts. (I already do, every chance I get. I mock because I love.) In fact, the one person I didn't see (out of the ones who are still there, that is) was Mr. Mac. Wish I had.

I wish I could take a date to Rogers Homecoming. Two reasons. One, don't want to go back there alone. I mean, yes, there's Jesus-Stephanie, and I know a lot of the people in my class have grown up a lot and would be perfectly fine people to talk to and wouldn't be any sort of problem, but I really, really don't want to go back there alone. I get tense just walking into the hall. And two, I will admit, I'd like to show up in front of them -- in front of Todd Bilderback, which is of course the most appealing part -- with a girl. Wish I could get away with it. But no, no guests; not even Dana, who is, after all, a fellow Rogers graduate and only one year away from being invited anyway.

I swear to God I just heard something in these lyrics about a cheese grater. But tragically, it was on the radio, so I have no earthly idea what song it was or whether they really said "cheese grater."
